Where for service and minor repairs on a Honda Fit?

Post by zzm9980 » Wed, 04 Apr 2012 4:35 pm

So I have a 2008 Honda Fit that needs a few minor items fixed. The power-retractable mirror on the passenger side is busted, and one of the rear seat belt buckles had the plastic pop out. Like I said, minor stuff.

So I google "singapore honda service", and the top five links all go to Honda.com.sg which is Kah motors. Cool, I've heard of them...

Call to make an appoint. They don't service Honda Fits. ?! The lady said I have to talk to my agent to find a place to service it. OK, that's weird. I bought the car second hand. So does anyone know where I can go to get minor repairs??

I think she meant that you can ask him for recommendations?

Anyway putting that aside, I used to lurk around AMK Industrial Park 2 area where all workshops are for minor repairs for my Honda Civic (scratches, engine, wiring, servicing etc).

Another place I know of is at Bukit Merah Industrial Park (close to where Anchorpoint, IKEA, Queensway SC is, and oh, it is right behind the famous Alexandra hawker centre). Same thing, densely populated with workshops.

Almost all of these workshops are run by typical Chinese 'uncles' or 'ah bengs' so um... you know what I mean. But if it is for minor repairs and you don't wanna throw your money at car services that can be done with a fraction of the price, so I guess it is alright. Be sure to ask around first before committing.

Sorry can't comment on price range for your case as I do not know the exact source of your power-retractable mirror problem (wiring/circuit problem?) and the plastic part of your buckle is something that I have never come across.

And take my words with a pinch of salt. I am a woman (driver)

Yeah, I guess that's what she meant. I was just shocked (what appears to be) an official Honda importer wouldn't even touch a Honda. It's not like a Fit is different from the Jazz which they do sell.

I'll check out the area around AMK IP 2. It's close to the office. And yeah, I know to ask a few :)

For the mirror, it sounds like the gear inside broke as the motor keeps spinning over and over. I pulled the mirror off but couldn't figure out a 'safe' way to open the mirror itself and inspect. (Besides, I'm not a teenager anymore. I make enough to pay for car repairs :D )

There's a lot workshops at 51 Ubi Avenue 1. I've used a few of them down there before and quite reasonable. Yes they are run by locals so expect to be quoted expat proces as first.

Somewhere a bit safer, try Autobacs who are at 10 Ubi View. They are more of a superstore. They might be able to help as well.
