If I marry Singaporean girl will I get Singapore Citizenship

Postby raisenbread » Fri, 30 Mar 2012 9:47 am

Does Singapore have Fiance Visas?

Will I get Singaporean residency if I marry a Singaporean girl?

What do I have to do to prove the marriage is real? Is it an interview?

I have known her for 6 years. This is not a sham marriage for residency.

Thank You for any replies. :)

No.

Please do a google search first before asking. Your questions are too basic.

ICA will decide for themselves.

OK try proving that. Seriously there's no way one can prove that.

Thank You for any replies. :)

Read this, and then you'll get an idea of what the process is, what passes and such are involved, and you'll get an idea what you need to do.

The three most important things to note, in my opinion are as follows:

You must have a Singaporean Citizen child;

or

You must have been married at least 3 years.

And probably best of all, LTVP+ holders will not have to qualify for an employment pass if they want to work. They will now be allowed to apply for a Letter of Consent just like a Dependent Pass holder. This is great news for lots of folks out there and we are going to have to remember this going forward as we've gotten pretty used to saying LTVP holder cannot get the LoC. Now, if they are a PLUS they can.

I take it that you're looking for a 2nd+ wife, as in your other topic this morning about hoping to buy an HDB you say 'I need the size for my wife, myself and our children'.

Nah, his prospective wife is probably a divorcée with children. So, if the children are Singaporean citizens, he may well qualify for the LTVP+ once he's been married for over, say, 6 months.

However, I wonder about his employability considering he doesn't have a degree at this time. I wonder how he plans on accomplishing that once he gets here.
