malaysian getting PR

Post by cometta » Tue, 27 Mar 2012 3:26 pm

I"m working in information technology industry for many years. I'm interested to get PR in singapore but i do not want to work in singapore. Instead I only want PR in singapore and continue work in malaysia. May i know what is the requirement to get PR ? Can anyone provide me details on this? I was told is it a must to get a company in SG to sponsor in order to get PR in singapore?

Would you be living in Singapore? I doubt that you will if you'll work in Malaysia. Why would the government grant you PR status if you don't even work in the country?

First of all you have to work in Singapore. Oops, I forgot you don't nor don't want to work in Singapore. Bzzzzzzzzt. Sorry, PR cannot.

How much money are you contributing to the Singapore economy? Do you run a Singapore-registered business?

Or

Do you pay Singapore taxes?

PR means Permanent Resident. Think about that for a moment.

It doesn't mean 2nd home resident now and again.

So the plan as you currently have it in mind is not going to work.

p.s. There is no equivalent of the 'Malaysia My Second Home' scheme. I believe there are some schemes for the rich and retired who wish to live in SG but the financial criteria run into the millions...

If you don't wanna work in Singapore (and want to remain in Malaysia instead), why on earth would you want to be a Singapore PR? Doesn't make sense...

Do you know *why* you want to be a PR? Are you old? If you're looking to retire here, you can get an LTVP for retirees:

If you really want a PR without working, here is your only option besides marrying a Singaporean:

The routine...
- Turn up, throw out completely unresearched wishes, wait for answer
- Receive opinions and questions for clarification
- Do not read advice given, do not engage in debate or explain motives
- 'Wrong answer' provided by forum so try again with totally different set of questions
- Grab at everything and anything without acknowledging it, or clarification, like a flock of seagulls
- [and so on and so on]
- As quickly as they turned up, clear back out again having taken what they can as soon as the 'food' runs out. Never to be heard from again....
Alt-ending a) OP attacks people for not providing the demanded answer
Alt-ending b) OP deletes all of his posts
Alt-ending c) A random sanctimonious expat who registered many years ago and now has a total of 3 posts bemoans how unhelpful people are towards newbies.
