Hello
My spouse and I will be moving to Singapore from Hong Kong in the month of June 2012. This will be our first time in Singapore. My spouse's office is based in Maritime Square. In HK a typical 2 bedroom flat will be in the size range of 400 sq.ft., but I am assuming Singapore flats will be comparatively larger. I am looking at the following:
1. 2 Bedroom, Hall, Kitchen apartment in and around Maritime Square.
2. Fully Furnished - would be cooking at home.
3. What would the rent be?
While we are looking at Maritime Square as it will be closer to spouse's office, any better and cheaper option with a bit of travel involved would also do.
We have no idea about the place therefore, please feel to suggest other locations.
Do also know what else we need to watch out for/take care of before moving to Singapore.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Moving from Hong Kong to Singapore
Hey there, this is Ben from HK, and have been working here for almost 2 yrs. I would suggest area like Tiong Bahru, Redhill, Bukit Merah, Telok Blangah.
Rent-wise -- it really depends. Are you looking for private condo or HDB (govt house) rental? The price can differ a lot. For HDB, generally around S$2000-3000 -- depends on location, age of apartment, condition, etc.
Hope it's useful to you for now. Let me know if you need any other help about SG. mcmben@gmail.com

Please use the search function in this website. Most of your concerns have actually been addressed already.
We discourage private discussion of such things because
1. information is publicly available and we'd like other people to benefit as well
2. some advertisers and agents do this to solicit business. this forum is sponsored by a real estate agency so that will be a conflict of interest.
