Just wanted to post a comment about a furniture dealer on Dempsey which new expats often go to - Pasardina Fine Living @ 13 Dempsey Road.
I sincerely do not recommend buying there at all.
Although they claim that they are "well known in the Expat communities and our local customer for it quality and after sale service", I had the most dreadful experience with them.
I bought a substantial amount of furniture there in one go upon arriving in Singapore (mirror, bed, dressing table, day bed) as they are indeed beautiful looking furniture. However, the quality isn't. Within 2 weeks we had scratches & marks everywhere.
The after sale service was as from a nightmare - the repairman from the store was extremely bad tempered - told me we didn't take good care of our furnitures, that this was normal to have daily scratches, scratched himself the day bed to prove it was easy to scratch (crazy!) and even tried to scratch other furnitures we had gotten from other stores which I had emphasized hadn't got any scratches.... asking price to repair was of course extremely high.
I ended up contacting another repairman which did a fantastic job for half the price. Unfortunately because of the low quality of Pasardina craftsmanship the scratches are gradually coming back.
Hope this review helps avoid disappointment for others.
