So? If you had taken the time to read the various stickies on this forum you would have already known that and instead of 3rd hand you would have links to the Ministry of Manpower's website links. You need to get up a wee bit earlier if you want the catch the worm around here.........

WHP - Working Holiday Pass
Hey JoeyJoeJoe,
I moved to Singapore in January and successfully got a 6 month contract working for a bank. My partner hasn't got anything yet and is starting casual work this week (he had only been looking for professional). If you want to meet up when you get here be happy to share some hints and tips as we couldn't find a soul when we first arrived in the same situ.
Also set up a facebook group, WHP - Singapore, you would be one of our first members... :p
Give me a shout if want anymore info.
Sarah

Re: WHP - Working Holiday Pass
Unless he is a Singaporean or a PR he cannot work "casual" and he is in violation of Singapore Law. If he gets caught, he will get free lodging for a while and then deported permanently. I hope he knows this. And yes, they will do spot checks and various establishments know for those types of activity.smj07 wrote:Hey JoeyJoeJoe,

Last time I checked, this was a public forum. And additionally, nowhere did you indicate that your "partner" was also on a Work Holiday visa. So next time you want to get attitude, I suggest you make sure your ducks are all lined up. We don't like to see people end up in the free hotel and, unfortunately, we are not mind readers so don't know what type of visa people are on unless they tell us. And Yes, we often do get readers who have been working illegally, albeit, unknowingly. So take a chill pill, yeah?
