Oh, ok, but than while searching take a note that by "private lift" people typically understand a lift with an exit directly to your flat. It only slightly reduces the chance of someone running into you with an unleashed dog. A house sounds like a much better option.

Next to my place in D12 is one that has 2 units per level each served by its own lift, a side gate. It does however have a half-day security guard, and is pretty small (not many units there as well). The pool's on level 12 or something.

How does it work then with private lifts, does this building therefore have about 24 separate lifts?

From what I have seen (example in point: Cuscaden Residences), the units share one elevator but it leads directly into each house. I think they prevent people from accidentally walking into wrong units by use of access card in each ride.

I believe a number of the 5* hotels use that kind of system. the card will allow you to utilize the lift but you can only get on or off at designated floors, e.g., commercial floors and the floor you are staying on.

Yes, one may suggest so. The one I have seen do not have many units per lift lobby to begin with (two floors per unit in a block). So I guess it provides the exclusivity.

I know a place like this, but to be fair, I have friends living there, they certainly wouldn't want a large unleashed dog running about their apartment block, nor would they want a bunch of hookers if that's the actual truth!

I don't buy the story of the dog. A house with a basic yard would tick all the boxes, for the dog too. And yet the quest for a rare-as-hens-teeth condo unit with private lift and minimal security continues. Why... it makes no sense. Why would you wish to keep an 'extremely large dog' in a condo rather than a house?

I can see that condos have anonymity that houses don't. A stream of visitors every night to a house is going to have the neighbours twitchy whereas to a condo it might go unnoticed.

I reckon it is all down to the visitors rather than any dog...

What breed is your dog OP? And did you know it's illegal to keep it off the leash in public in Singapore except in private property, unfortunately a condo is not private property. Frankly if I saw you with your large dog off a leash in my condo I'd have words, if you did nothing about it I'd be reporting you to the police!

Before I last moved to SG I lived in a building that a very glamorous young woman moved into who it transpired was an escort/high-end hooker.

She took the basement flat. Side entrance/own front door, no mixing with neighbours. A steady flow of people coming and going at all hours until she got turfed out three months later*.

She had a big dog, a long-haired weimaraner. In retrospect it was her guard-dog, to keep unwanted callers at bay.



*ironically she got turfed out on the grounds of 'we know what you're doing' but the legal grounds being no pets allowed per your lease, plus sharing with 3 other nubile young ladies, or anyone else, is also not permitted.

You have to laugh at Foxtons the agent who vetted her initial references and reported her lack of work references as due to her 'being of independent means'. The fact she was a raven haired blue eyed Brazilian of pneumatic build with a penchant for black one piece lycra jumpsuits didn't seem to set off any alarm bells with them at all...

I'd assume a SE Asian breed, likely Thai, but also maybe Vietnamese, PRC, or even Korean.
