"S Pass" I want to get some information? Can anyon

Post by Slumper » Fri, 03 Dec 2004 4:14 pm

Hi,
I would like to know what are the criteria for MOM evaluating a "S Pass". Actually, i have been offered a place in Singapore in a Micro biology lab with a proposed salary of 2000$.
But the prod is that i only have an A level and is now completing a degree in Computer Science(Target to finish end 2005).
I would like to know whether it will be hard to get the "S Pass" approved? because i have no solid academic record(A degree yet). But on the other side, i do have 6 years working experince in Marketing and as System Administrator.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi

The requirements for S Pass application are as follow:

a. Salary - refers to the minimum basic salary of $1,800. Basic salary is a standard component of income used to compare the income of foreigners across all sectors and industries.

b. Qualifications - generally refer to degree or diploma level educational qualifications. Technical qualifications can be considered and are, very broadly, courses that train the applicant to be a qualified technician or specialist in their chosen field. This should be obtained after at least 1 year of full-time study. To use a Singapore example, this would include NTC 2 or higher National ITE Certificate (NITEC) courses.

c. Job Type - generally refers to professional or specialist or technician level jobs.

d. Years of Work Experience - generally refers to the number of relevant years of experience that the applicant has for the job being applied for under the S pass.

Normally they have a quota for S Pass applicantions. So good luck!
