Most Economical Option For Living On Visit Visa?
Most Economical Option For Living On Visit Visa?
I am planning to come over to SG for job hunting on a visit visa. Apparently I cannot rent a room/apartment on visit visa? What do you guys suggest me to do?
I think living in hotels will be very costly? What do you guys recommend me doing when I arrive there? I have no relative/friends there, so I have to arrange everything before reaching there.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks.

Stay home. Or opt for a flop house (backpackers hotels down on Bencoolen street) common room with 16 other blokes. Or someplace like Hotel 81's which might set you back $50/night or for a month you might be able to dicker down to $35~40/night. Better than a 3 or 4 start at 250 up /night.
But, seriously, you are not the flavour of the month in Singapore at the moment so I'd seriously think I'd reconsider my plans if money is that tight because the little dark cloud of failure will hover over your head the moment you step off the boat or plane or bus.
In any case, if you are determined to make like a salmon swimming upstream, good luck.

Go on Singapore Gumtree and you will find a lot of places offering a room (some even coming with access to (paid) internet) for as low as $20 / night. Mostly caters to budget travellers.

You are right. If you know someone in Singapore, you can bunk in. Because the disembarkation form requires you to include the address of where you will be staying (be it hotel's or friend's place).Enzali wrote:So it would be legal? I believe that comes in the domain of renting as well! no?
According to my understanding (and what I have read online), one can only live in hotels or with someone he knows when he arrives in SG on a visit visa.
