Thanks aster - I moved here two years ago so this is an old post that's been trawled up again.
As I said, we've found the school bus works well for our son and the tired [sic] and tested bus-and-walk route for me. Soon he'll move to a new school further away and it'll be trains, planes and automobiles for me; not looking forward to that.
Having said that, I've found, in my limited experience of life on this island, that nothing's ever really that far away. Which is nice.
Happy labour day :)

Glad to hear that you're settled in already. :)

Are you changing schools because you are not happy for your child to stay at the present one, or is the currently school simply moving its campus to a new location?

Distance can be a pain, especially when it comes to kids and school, even I am looking at closer solutions as I have a rather loooong commute each school day.

New school. Various reasons, the biggest of which is that I am keen to take complaining out of the general equation. Looking forward to August with a fresh outlook, whatever the extra distance...

If you're unhappy with a school and it seems like the issues will never be solved then it's good to take things into your own hands and move if need be. I am always re-evaluating our current school vs other possibilities, so I try to stay up-to-date with the school scene here and where various institutions stand.

If you prefer to keep this low key then could you PM me the school you were at before and any issues there so that I know to stay well clear of them, and which school you chose to move to?
