Toddler-friendly places to stay in Bintan

Post by wannamove » Sun, 04 Mar 2012 3:33 pm

I keep hearing Angsana or Banyan tree are the best resorts in Bintan but are they toddler/kid friendly or are they targeted mainly for couples.

What are the best toddler-friendly places to stay in Bintan?

Thank you

I guess it depends a bit what do you call a toddler friendly place but we have a kind of fixed resort at this moment and it is the Nirwana Resort Hotel: http://resort.nirwanagardens.com/
Fixed in that sense that last 3 stays in Bintan we stayed there and last time it was with our 6th months old (then). He found it friendly and I can recommend the place. Nice swimming pools, also for kids, reasonable beach, rooms and pricing.

Thank you! I just wanted to be sure that we were'nt the only couple dragging our toddler to dinners at the restaurants. Toddlers and mealtimes mean not the serene atmosphere some people prefer to have during a resort vacation.

I can not speak for Angsana or Banyan Tree * as we have never been there but the Nirwana Hotel is a large, family type of the resort targeted in the Singaporean (higher)middle class. None of the restaurants on the hotel grounds we used (all except the Japanese one) has anything from the atmosphere you may want to preserve not introducing a toddler or two. Obviously if the kid makes a lot of noise and eats from the other guests plates, serene or not, nobody will be very happy anyway, but for an average toddler with reasonably acting parents the place should be ok.

*) you may want to check the tripadvisor

the last time we went to the Banyan Tree there are big chunks of the place where kids are not allowed, main pool, spa etc. but if you take the private pool villa, then its great.

Thank you! I am just talking normal toddler behavior and nothing beyond ordinary. I have realized that many people (not all) do not like that during their vacation and many of the resorts try to have areas to cater to child-free vacationeers.

Thanks again

Thank you! Well looks like the Banyan Tree is not what I am looking for

Avoid Club Med at all costs. Terrible kids' club, no child-friendly pool, oil on the beach, awkward restaurant opening hours. Steps everywhere.

Thank you for your word of caution
