Does it matter if the child is not physically in Singapore?

My parents are thinking of retiring in Singapore but my dad is not Singaporean. Will they care if I did not contribute to Singapore taxes since I am working outside the country?

So this would be your father, who would be applying along with your Singaporean mother?

Since they obviously have been married along enough to have a child who can at least use the Internet (and I suspect is much much older than that implies ) I don't think they'll have a problem

My understanding is that MOM is trying to weed out those with "marriages of convenience". I know *of* OT girls who have married locals for LTVP. I think the going rate was S$3500. (keyword highlighted there, don't get any goofy ideas!)

$3500 for LTVP? If that clears the WP requirement I thought it is worth much more.

Uh, most of those people don't have work permits. They're (or were) paying Singaporeans to marry them.

good, I welcome such a move.
prevent those "marriages of convenience" to get PR. Will also prevent singaporeans marrying just for the sake of being able to get a brand new hdb flat (and subsequently paying for it dearly in the form of failed marriages)
