Maid in Singapore

Post by cicatrix » Wed, 29 Feb 2012 11:28 pm

Hey,

What is the going rate per hour for a maid in singapore - cleaning and ironing. Also, do any of these maids cook?

Local maids (the only kind that can do hourly) will set you back around $18~20/hour. However, the more hours a week you use them the better rate you can negotiate, with the bottom probably not less than $15/hour. Some may cook but you would probably need to pay extra for one that does.

If you are looking for a live in maid, then I would suggest you do some research on this forum as it's been discussed almost on a weekly basis.

You can check the centre column of my links page for some local maid suppliers. These are ones that have been recommended by other expats here over the years. Please read my disclaimer on the page though.
