Fitriah's lawyer, Mr Mohamed Muzammil Mohamed, said his client had an IQ of 63, which made her unable to cope with a demanding and difficult employer. The normal range is between 90 and 110.

The lawyer added that Mdm Sng had hired seven maids between 2003 and 2009.

We need to be aware of this under laying issues before toddling down the well-worn maid-is-always-the-victim route.
The old bat must have been a real piece of work if she went through 7 maids in 6 years. Thank you, Mancan'tthink, you just supported what we have been saying. Most of it is because of the employer's treatment of the FDW - and in this case it would appear that the employer was not a very good employer at all to have gone through 7 maids in 6 years. "demanding and difficult" I believe the phrase was? What was it you were saying about underlying issues?
sms, aside from being a 20+ year Singapore resident, you don't really make a good defence lawyer.

Reminds me of a joke........

One day Dog descends from the heavens and sits down on the 50 yard line of a Soccer pitch while a game was just starting to get going. He had opposing fans on each side of him.

Anyway, the game commences and finally one of the teams scored a goal. Dog starts cheering wildly like a lot of the fans in the bleachers do.

Later, the other team scored a goal. Dog starts cheering wildly like a lot of the other fans in the bleachers did as well.

Each time one of the teams scored a goal, Dog started cheering......

Until finally one of the fans asked him "why do you cheer each time a goal is scored be either of the teams, which team are you for?

And Dog replied. I am not "for" either team. I'm just here for the game.

Well, that's me. I don't need to score points or even keep score. Basically, I'm just the janitor here, insomuch as when people start throwing garbage, I clean it up. Nothing more.

You are always entitled to your opinions, and I may disagree with them, but I'll defend your right to post them as long as decorum remains. Once that stops, then the game is over.

But I, like every other member of this board, am entitled to my own opinions. And on this board, unlike most boards, the moderators are regulars who also occasionally have to put on their moderator caps. I usually designate when I'm acting as a moderator by signing off thus and using blue fonts. Each moderator has their own way of doing things, but it's easy to know.

Why would staying in Singapore for 20+ years tend to make one a Defense Lawyer? Your logic never fails to amaze..... :-|

TOILET!... That got you all looking, enough of this dross please...

And yeah, I agree with JR8, that maid was a minger, she didn't deserve to die though and it's very sad, but such is life!

Did you see the story about the Sheman/Ladyboy/Shim in Sunhaven condo that knifed a caucasian man to death?

Mental!

OT - but here are as reported:
The 46 yr old Aussie man not dead - stab in eye, arm, chest, face...
The 23 yr old Pinoy she-man charged in hospital.
Blood all over.

Elementary both in legal and basic ethical perspectives.

One should never justify nor minimize the defendant's murder charge based on allegations of maltreatment by the 87 year old employee.

Now, what about my earlier query:
In your PA experience + nearly 3 decades in Singapore, were you involved with some domestic-helper or foreign-worker related activities?
Sad state you say? Can you share more?

Does "garbage" inclusive the act of name-calling under this Forum's guideline?

If you want to try to agitate, try using better English. Can or not? Before I empty the dumpster that is......

In answer to your question though, "you are a stupid c**t" will get you thrown out. But "you are a jerk" won't, even if both are probably true.

NB: I'm starting to tire of you. Just thought you should know.....

Vague and uncertain guidelines.

That pretty much means mod can bend and flex language rules as they deemed fit subjected to whatever agenda they have or prefer.

In short, mod are afterall, humans and bias/prejudice/lack of impartiality are not too far behind, even when they wear the blue hat of a Moderator.

and why would I wanna agitate you with my less-than-perfect Eng~land?

A KNNB~CCB is suffice.

Hardly.
Didn't I say I was surprised how little-read some are in here?
Pictures convey powerful meanings, and if seen by those un-informed, they can easily be jump to groundless conclusions, as we have found out with my little litmus test.
Are you trying to point out that having off days will increase the crime rate ?maybe i can also remind you bout that foreign prostitute who fell down from the hdb of a Singaporean guy a couple of months ago. Go back to your cave.
Strange, why does one wanna shoo folks away when they are trying to engage you?

Other than the Sunhaven near-fatal incident between 2 foreigners, I am not aware of any "foreign prostitute" falling off HDB buildings recently.
Can you provide me the source?

1-day days will increase crime rate in Singapore? Well the signs are there even before the latest 1-dayoff rule.

Some NGO even hinted need to increase social service for maids

Yep, is certainly is.......

Moderators have the ability to enforce the spirit of the rules, you are absolute correct. While I know what the letters stand for, it won't be long before all the others will as well, so.....

.....wave bye-bye to all the nice folks here as you are now history.

Manthink has gotten to be a tiresome little fellow, but I reckon he'll be back in another guise. Most of his type of troll usually do. And like the others, he'll eventually be found out and end up the same way. Leopards just can't change their spots.
