Where's "What we think we are" and "What we really are"?

:???:

(It's an ongoing meme: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/what-peop ... -really-do)
"A quokka is what would happen if there was an anime about kangaroos."

Well whoever intended this, certainly has reached his goal of getting some attention over certain issues - albeit the wrong format :P

@nutnut: ah, much better.

@carteki: in danger of being flamed, our hosts aren't exactly known for their sense of humor (or lack thereof) , moreso for self-deprecating humor.

I definitely agree with the Malaysian frame, and less so than the government frame. All Singaporeans cry about is how 'gahman suck you dry'! Except for vehicles and COE, this place is nothing compared to most of the US or Western Europe, and Singaporeans at least get stuff for their money. (Not that they appreciate it)

The Chinese frame really reminds me of a story told by an American acquaintance in Singapore.

He requested for important documents to be mailed using DHL to his regional office in Singapore from the US. Weeks passed by and there was nothing. He checked with his HQ in the US and learned that the package was returned to the US as 'undelivered'.

When he asked to check the address, guess what? The Singapore address was accurate all the way - and they added CHINA at the last line of the address. :P :lol:

I've had more than a few people I know in the US (who are otherwise rather intelligent in their specialties) think that Singapore was in/part of China.

The first letter my Mom posted to me back in '95, she posted to Singapore, China. It finally made it here somehow.

Lloyds Bank in the Uk always send my statements to:

Singapore
China

I keep meaning to tell them that they're a bunch of noobs, but haven't got around to it yet 8-)

I didn't know where Singapore was until I moved here. I know that we 'bash' American's for not being aware as to there is a world outside their borders, but Singapore is a pin-prick. We can't expect everyone to know everything.
