Where to buy International Day party supplies?

Post by Brooklynjenn » Wed, 22 Feb 2012 6:11 pm

I am on the hunt for party decorations for our school's UN around the world food party, and I can't seem to find any international themed party decorations. Has anyone seen flag decorations, world/globe decorations, a blow up beach ball type globe, or have any idea where we might find a large hanging map? All of the party supplies I have found so far seem birthday party themed. Is there a giant party store here that might have this sort of thing? I have looked at Spotlight, Daiso, Art Friend, and Mustafa. Thank you!!

To Joop - thank you for the private message. I hadn't heard of any of those! I tried to respond but am blocked from sending private messages for some reason. Thanks so much for the suggestions, I will try them.

Brooklynjenn:

Don't mention.

For others who are also interested, these were the places I recommended to try:

Hey guys, I'm in a play (Disco Fever), and I need a costume. It needs to be from the 70's and look like a richer man would wear it.

For example

Any ideas?

Ask any Indian tailor. Most of them still are wearing flared trousers from the 70's disco era anyway. Probably could set you up with a high collared acetate shiny shirt and a few gold tone plated chains to hang around your chest. Might have some problem with the platform shoes though.

What does one do to observe or party on international day? Just curious. I've never heard of anyone really observing this day - outside of governmental authorities. I just think of it as a day off. But I'd be interested to know....

Ditto.

and, oh, the Italian just walked past. I didn't see the Russian today (he must've taken the day off). I've been trying to get a hold of the Mauritian but she's elusive...
