To start with - Yes! there are cricket grounds in Singapore and i play in most of them frequently. As it is our passion, we are exploring the possibility of managing a ground and do a better job at it [not sure when you last played in fernvale!]
So, would appreciate if you could advice how one could lease ground in Singapore..
Regards..
Well, I come from a cricket playing country, but I gotta agree to a friend who said that watching cricket is more boring that watching a piece of metal corrode ..
No, I don't play the game of bat and ball
Well, again, goes back to the same question. What will you do better, vs the others ?
As for leasing a land ?
You can start off scouting around with the land owners (Singapore Land authority, HDB or others, who own land .. )
and land don't come cheap, and while, back home any empty space is game to be converted for use, in Singapore, even empty spaces are protected .. no can do .. from what I know .. especially if you want to build up infrastructure to go with it .. (stand, lighting, dress room .. )
Back to you - did you know that despite the area at Balestier being designated as a heritage area etc. etc, they are just a step away from being taken back by the Govt ??
So, you gotta step far away, far far away from town, for your venture to kick start
Alternate, if you have enough $$$, come up with a business plan, go to MND and Ministry of sports, present to them, and they may find the place for you ..
