apply for an EP with a different passport

Post by delta950 » Mon, 06 Feb 2012 11:05 pm

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding an EP application. In the past, I was an intern in Singapore. I was working with a TEP. I applied with as a Belgian (Belgian mother). I found a job in Singapore for a German company. I have a German passport as well. The German company wants to hire me because of my German background. They need someone who can speak German to deal with German suppliers.

I know that it's hard for fresh grads to get a visa in Singapore. The MOM is not keen when it comes to foreign fresh grads. However, I bring an added value (German background) which is hard to source locally.

Do you think that the MOM might take it wrongly if I apply with my German passport (instead of my Belgian passport)?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I don't want to provide feedback on your situation (simply don't know if it's good or bad), but just want to let you know about some technical details:

As part of the EP application, you need to fill out an application form (http://www.mom.gov.sg/Documents/service ... _Form8.pdf) that also includes the following:
"Have you ever entered Singapore using a different passport issued by a different country? "
So, if you apply with your German passport, you need to provide the details of your Belgian passport and the background of when and why you used it here

Viel Glueck!

Ask MOM.

I am curious about this as well, as I am also a dual national. I have toyed with the idea of changing the passport I use in Singapore. It shouldn't be a problem, I don't think? As long as the documents are aboveboard.

If you have dual citizenship, be careful to ensure that both have equal standings in Singapore. There are some countries that do seem to have problems getting EP approvals.
