Don't recall her taking more than maybe 2 days MC (total) over the last 6 odd years. Meanwhile all the rest of the family seem to drop like flies. 'Man-flu'... you thought it a Western phenomenon jeez do a study on my family!? lol
and to barge in .. while the MC is considered as an entitlement .. there are companies who quietly mark the employee as 'unfit' if the person has a habit of using up all the MC !!!

Like my former place, a girl used to ensure she used up all her MC .. and come second year of her work, she was terminated and when she challenged the admin/HR, the answer was she is always SICK !! If she had chosen to sue, She couldn't have gone far burning bridges with the HR as the industry is very small ..

It also comes into play during bonus time at the end of the year. Our company does not have AWS. We do have a bonus but it isn't in their contracts so Unpaid leave, MC, etc., definitely come into play.

Man, and I feel when I'm sick and work from home.. With actual legitimate working happening!

Look what working in that evil capitalist silicon valley culture did to me... :D
