Me too :(

The Music Matters festival brought a bit of relief, with lots of original music, even if I'd never heard of any of the bands....however it's not what I'm really looking for....I want some good rock music in a non-live, non-cover format.....and maybe even a bit of a dance floor/moshpit. :(

Local pubs/clubs won't pay original bands for play regularly. Tough luck buddy.

My bro-in-law fronts a local band. He is a guitar-demon, can play with his teeth, behind his back, plus they have their own material. But there is no market for it, so instead they do three month contracts in places like Clarke Quay pumping out anodyne covers night after night (they get paid v well for it). What a waste...

p.s. 'Move like Jagger'? Can't say I'd recognise it if I heard it!

On the contrary, Maroon 5 did make a music video for this song featuring the recordings of our old Jagger's dance moves.

Jesus wept, the lead sings like a whiney little boy whose nuts never dropped. That is almost physically painful for me to watch

Maroon 5 eh? Remind me to avoid them at all costs in future.

Never in my listening list anyway but they managed to acquire the rights to use Mick Jagger's footage for their video clip so it does say something about them. I don't know...
