Mother in law visiting - preparing for ICA

Hello,

My elderly non-english speaking mother in law is coming to visit soon from Vietnam. The intention is to get her a LTVP, but we can't do that until she arrives with my wife's birth certificate.

This is her first visit here (she just got a passport for the first time last week), and I'm rather sure she won't be mistaken for a girl from OT or Joo Chiat. However, I know there is always the risk of the whim of ICA.

Is it beneficial to have her bring scanned print outs of mine and my wife's ICs? Normally I'd just do it to be safe. But it will be logistically challenging to say the least to find someone to email it to that has a printer where she lives. So if there is no benefit, I'd rather avoid the hassle.

My auntie has his 1st time passport and came to singapore without any hustle from ICA;

as long your mother in law bring enough cash (just in case).

once she is here with SV, you can apply her LTSVP online; she can also extended under SV for 89 days

Well, you can courier it

Better to have more documents than less .. though ICA doesn't bother much with older folks .. in my stint in T1, I rarely saw older people being escorted back to departure gate - or rather, never saw any old folk being deported out

Alternate, of course, is a silly choice but have been done You or your wife fly to KL, and return back to time with the arrival of your MIL ! so you can assist her with the ICA

She will be fine as long as you do all the requirement and just make sure she has your contact number here
Point to note to make it a breeze at border control, request the airline prior departure for elderly assistance at both end. She will zoom thru the checkpoint faster than Speedy Gonzales
