Ok, it's a fact that the further out in Singapore, the cheaper the rent. Well, there's a place I know of where the rent is only $600 for an entire apartment (about 400sq ft, just nice for a couple) unit. And no, it's not a HDB. This is a private apartment, 5 mins walk to the sea and 10 mins to the city center (by public transport). Unfortunately, to get this apartment is to go thru a tedious and laborious process.

Hey, I have friends living in another PREMAS-operated block there (which is not marked on the map). They are really nice and big flats with an old-world charm in a green and quiet environment. But no facilities (no aircon!) and no shops or eating options within walking distance.
I would take one immediately, but as previous posters have said, it's tedious and chances are low!

Well I heard that UGL will install air-con if you so wish and a retail center is now open fr across along with stalls and sundry shop at the comtech area.
