Hi,
I will be moving to Singapore in the next few months with my husband and young son (2). He will be working in the Jurong area so we will be looking to be living within commuting reach. He will be getting a car with the role but we would also need to have good transport access for me and my son.
We have never visited Singapore so are getting all our info from books at the moment!
I would like opinions on housing types for families and good places to go as a family, and any other information would be welcome too!
Thanks in advance for any replies and maybe we'll see you soon in sunny (and rainy!) SIngapore!

Try the forum search (roughly the upper right corner of the page). Similar questions are asked every few weeks. You'll find lots of replies that will all be very relevant to you. Not much has changed in the past 5+ years, except maybe rent prices.

I agree with zzm, the search is a good start, when you have more pointed questions that you are stuck with then we will be able to help.
Here's a nice page to look at activities for you and your son when your hubby is at work....

You could live somewhere in the Jurong (west-side) area I suppose. And depending on how long you'll be here you might want to give the Canadian School a look as they have a brand new campus in Jurong.

you didnt mention your kid's age but one of the most important thing when coming to singapore with kids is to sort out schooling first, then accomodation within reach or easy transportation to the school. dont worry about the husband - he comes last.

I believe she put her son's age in parenthesis (2).

Never heard of this brand.
I just get adult size tables and chairs because they grow out too fast, waste of money to buy kids sizes.
