It would take a lifetime to explain why, but Canadians are very, very different than their American cousins. Much stronger sense of satire, more like Brits and Australians. Perhaps that's why Americans keep importing their comics from Canada.

American comics usually are printed in Canada. A lot of writers for the big comics companies (DC, Marvel) are from the UK.

Comics meaning comedians, like Mike Myers, Jim Carey, and most of the writers for SNL, the Simpsons, Arrested Development, the Daily Show, etc.

products.
Yup; lotsa comedy writers come from Canadiastan.
