PR Application Profile

Postby PEP_APP » Mon, 16 Jan 2012 10:49 am

Hi All,
Need your expert advise on my PR Profile and queries.

Husband:
Employment: IT Department of the Global Bank (12 month contract)
Salary : SGD 12000 per month
Employment pass: P1
Nationality: Indian
Education: PhD Engineering
Singapore: Worked in Singapore from 2006 to 2011 (5 years on p2). Relocated to India for four months and returned to Singapore on P1 since Oct (3 pay slips)

Wife:
Employment: IT Consultant with a small firm
Salary : SGD 4200 per month
Employment pass: P2
Nationality: Indian
Education: Engineering Graduate
Singapore: She also Worked in Singapore from 2006 to 2011 (5 years on p2). Relocated to India for four months and returned to Singapore on P2 since Oct (3 pay slips)

Kids: One boy and one girl. Studying at International School.

My Queries:
1. Should I apply for PEP first (to insure the job risk)
2. Apply for PR as whole family (I have only three pay slips in the new job.Is it fine? I do have 5 years of IRAS Tax Assessment)
3. What I can do further to enhance my chances to get PR (meaning wait for some more time, apply after CNY etc.)

I am inspired by SMS quote "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained" and the worst answer is No :-)

Thanks for your time.

What I have been reading around is "if you are a Malaysian Chinese, your chances are very good to get PR". As for Indians heard they need to bring back the percentage from 9 to 7, so it will be difficult to get.

I am living in Singapore for more then 18 years, relocated to oversea for some years, my third kid being born in oversea. Back to SG since Jan 2010, have applied for his PR and it has been more then 1 yea, the application is still pending.

But you can always apply, you never know ur lucky stars might be shining....

PR query

Postby PEP_APP » Wed, 18 Jan 2012 2:59 pm

thanks Jasbier for your reply.

My query is

1. Should I wait for Six signapore payslip before I apply
or
2. Go ahead and apply with 6 payslip (3 Singapore + 3 India Pay) AND last 5 years of IRAS return

This very fine point is puzzling and need opinion from senior borders

What does it take to wait for another 3 months. Why not to follow simple written rules?
Get 6 months salary slips and apply with last 3 Years Tax returns. What is the hurry?

I have to agree with manish. When you try to push the goalposts here, they tend to look sideways at those applicants, trying to figure out why they are so desperate. Instead of trying to "negotiate" with them, you would do better to just follow the instructions. After 30 years here, I find they are much more amiable when you don't try to push them.

thanks Manish/SMS, appreciate your response.

Makes sense, I will wait for some more time before applying.
