Such T&C comes when the S Pass holder gets the approval papers .. if I remember correctly ..oklor76 wrote:Hi,
I have checked thru all government website like MOM to ICA but could not find the answer I am looking for.
-Can S Pass holder get pregnant in Singapore?
-Do S Pass holder need to go for pregnant test when doing their renewal?
-Do S Pass holder need to inform the controller when she plans to marry a Singaporean.
Thanks
The only reason you can't find an answer is because the restriction only applies to WP holders. Nevertheless, it is your responsibility to update MOM when that happens.oklor76 wrote:Hi,

-Can S Pass holder get pregnant in Singapore?
Yes. Only WP holders are not allowed.
-Do S Pass holder need to go for pregnant test when doing their renewal?
No need. But in the form (for renewal), you must indicate that you have a child and who's your spouse.
-Do S Pass holder need to inform the controller when she plans to marry a Singaporean.
No need to. Only WP holders have to do that.
Thanks
This is a biological question and the answer is "Yes, if one other condition (being female) is met!"oklor76 wrote:-Can S Pass holder get pregnant in Singapore?

So, are you planning to get an S Pass holder pregnant or planning to get a girl friend as S Pass holder ??
For question 3 - no permission needed, but need to inform MOM if getting married (Change of status .. )
My gf called MOM and was told we need to apply thru them and MOM will send us an application within the next 14 days. We need to fill up the application form and wait for their approval. MOM told us not to go down to MOM as that department do not entertain walk in customer. They will send to us and we will just need to respond MOM thru the application letter send to us.the lynx wrote:The only reason you can't find an answer is because the restriction only applies to WP holders. You raise such an interesting question...
JR8 wrote:I can understand your concern to get this done correctly. The ramifications of WP holders not doing it correctly can be heavy (just ask SMS who knows first hand).
I'd call MoM again and repeat the question.
But can I ask, how are you phrasing it? I'd imagine something like this...
- 'Hello, I am SGn citizen. I would like to marry my girlfriend/fiancee who is a xyz citizen, and working here on a S-Pass. Do we need permission from MoM to get married?'
Is that what you're asking? On the surface it seems very black and white.
I think I can understand where you're coming from.oklor76 wrote:JR8 wrote:I can understand your concern to get this done correctly. The ramifications of WP holders not doing it correctly can be heavy (just ask SMS who knows first hand).

Yes, the officer replied me that we do not need to inform MOM. But then my gf called them directly and the answer she got from the other officer is that we need to apply from MOM to get married. So verbally we got 2 different answers now.
I was trying to look around in the forum to see if anyone had experience having trying to marry their S pass holder spouse in Singapore.
I will try to contact them again.
So too I think .. !!!the lynx wrote: My guess is that the MOM heard your girlfriend wrongly because the only black-and-white requirement for permission from MOM is for WP holders only. EP and SPass need not to do so because simple it doesn't say so.
I think (experts, please correct me) the application form is not for approval purposes, it is merely for updating purposes. Nevertheless, wait for the form to come first and see the content.
Not a big hoo-haa I'd say. It is a good thing you're trying to make sure things are done accordingly. Better extra effort than breaking the law.
Yah, I have to be very careful, one wrong step and I am history. I have read in this forum where there were cases where the spouse is ban from entering Singapore.the lynx wrote:I think I can understand where you're coming from.oklor76 wrote:JR8 wrote:I can understand your concern to get this done correctly. We refer to your email dated 16 January 2012.
We wish to inform that S Pass Holders who intend to marry Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents are not required to seek Marriage Approval from the Work Pass Division (WPD). However, the employer will need to inform Ministry of Manpower of the change in his / her marital status by submitting the Amendment of Personal Particulars along with a copy of the Marriage Certificate.
