Did she have a confirmed return flight?
I dont want to give up yet ... she is a great person and it would be unacceptable for me that she is simply not welcome to Singapore.
Could anyone be so kind to suggest me what to do next? I am totally in the dark Is there maybe a professional I could turn to who deals with this kind of matters?
I wouldn't recommend you a 3rd Party to help your case with the ICA as they don't like other Parties meddling in their business
Your help is very much appreciated
Cheers,

Sorry to disappoint you but ASEAN doesn't work like how EU does. Being a member country for this one doesn't offer easier mobility between member countries. Same thing goes for employment.Maarten wrote:Yes, she did had a return ticket, 10 days from arrival if I remember correctly ...
I thought citizens of ASEAN countries had the freedom of travel between these countries. Apparently this "freedom" has a lot to do with your ethnicity and your social status.
Well, tongue in cheek, I would have suggested that you should 'migrate' to Philippines, if you want her with you ..Maarten wrote:I thought citizens of ASEAN countries had the freedom of travel between these countries. Well, same goes for Asians applying for US/Europe visa. showing sincerity and promise of not having any plans to stay forever does not translate to a visa guarantee .. when Asians apply for US/Europe visa. She has currently a restaurant and a shop in the Philippines and not keen on staying in Singapore for more then just holiday.
Well, this is where I give really valuable advice:I dont want to give up yet ... she is a great person and it would be unacceptable for me that she is simply not welcome to Singapore.
Well, since you seem to be jovial enough, why not you frequently go there .. like the saying, when the mountain cannot go to .. .....Maarten wrote:
Of course not married to her, in order to go to that stage first you have to know each other very well.
With all the loopholes, if you visit the tower, you will realise that the approximately 1000 ++ girls there, all of them are on social visit and have sworn to ICA that they are here for 'holiday'Honestly I think comparing Singapore with US/Europe is a bridge to far. Singapore is not similar at all ... Race or social background is never an issue with these destinations .. as long you did your paperwork well and you live up to the rules and regulations being publicized openly by those governments ...
Further Singapore is a city state, which makes it very easy to check who is in or out. (try that with Europe ...)
Wrong ... I am a PR, and I don't get treated second class, ...Apparently ICA has a non transparent process in place witch as a citizen is very hard to influence ... especially when your are a second class Singapore resident. (me being PR)
Try and do tell us what happened
But would it be smart to seek direct contact with ICA to find a way to talk one on one with an officer?
Well, atleast in Singapore, the unwelcome feeling is limited to just the cyberspace. But look at it the other way round, an asian going to Europe, USA or Australia will get a taste of it in a more tangible way.Maarten wrote: I certainly will update the progress and if I am able to meet up with an officer.
Only would be great if people have some success stories

And yes I know I am not a citizen ... and maybe not fair to mention about second class beeing PR ... but on the other hand, did you read recently the postings on websites like STOMP and Yahoo! News? As a PR you do not get that warm feeling of being welcome in your "new" country that you can call home
