Product engineer's prospect in Singapore

Postby freonix » Wed, 11 Jan 2012 10:37 am

I'm about to sign in as a product engineer in a semiconductor/flash storage company, but I'm getting cold feet about it. I'm current a software engineer at a local company and felt that it's time to jump ship to a more wider scope job.

This might be quite generic question, but I want to see whether is there any prospect in Singapore. Thanks

You have a job offer and want us to evaluate it without knowing further specifics?
Or what is your question?

I'm pretty sure I stated the question to be "What will be the prospectus of a product engineer in Singapore". Just want to know if anyone else had experience in this before.

Yes, there are several semiconductor companies, but the industry isn't growing any more, but moving elsewhere.

Some Manufacturing might be moving elsewhere, however if the OP is product design then they only need to be where the data is generated, and some of the Semiconductor Companies are consoladating their data operations here regardless of where the manufacturing sites are.

They shouldn't have any problems finding work in my opinion.
