Any recommendations for toddler swimming lessons?

Post by Su-slinker » Mon, 09 Jan 2012 1:59 pm

Our son just turned 2 years old and we think it's about time he become water-safe. Any swimming complexes near Tanjong Pagar area?

Any suggestions appreciated!!!

Welcome.

In addition, based on your child's age, (s)he's certain to be enrolled into water safety/water confidence course first before the actual swimming lessons begin. And it is a common course recommended for children his/her age.

Trust me, such lessons really pay off well in long term :)

Yes, the lessons I use for my son are really good at Bedok (Happy fish, it's in the other thread!)

I took my son to some swim lessons when he was 2 and never heard of a water safety/water confidence course. Just went straight into lessons with the private teacher, along with a couple of other friends. He was a bit 'lessoned out' at the time (what with swimming, JWT, Bibinogs) so haven't been for a while, just been having fun in the pool with him instead but will take up lessons again soon.

Well it is not a pre-requisite per se but it is a norm for teachers to help the children to be familiar in water (especially if the child happened to be aquaphobic), which involves learning to bubble in the water, putting face into water without freaking out etc - basically conditioning the children. Of course some children are natural so they can briskly go over to the basics such as floatation before moving on to actual swimming lessons.
