International Adoption: Adoption of Foreign Child (USA)

Post by yeegf » Sat, 07 Jan 2012 9:33 pm

Hello all,

I am an Italian, single and 25, and I have plans to get married soon.
I would like to adopt a child from the United States or any other Europe Countries. However all singaporeans seeking to adopt a foreign child must undergo a MCYS Home Report Study.

I have read through everything about the MCYS Home Report Study, however I would need to know the rules and regulations upheld in the foreign country that I am adopting from. I am sure that it would be very difficult to find an adoption centre in the U.S.A that accepts the MCYS report as a report up to the standard in their own country.

I sincerely ask for help from those who have been through this.

Hi! We are just now looking into the possibility to adopt.

Please check government's page
http://app.msf.gov.sg/Adoption.aspx.

I also found a pdf that you can purchase on the net very useful. Written in 2011 so not too old.

Good luck!

Are you resident in Singapore? Are you a male or female (Single males cannot adopt at this time I believe). Are you homosexual? (not allowed to adopt in Singapore). Which country are you trying to source the child in? Do you specifically have written advice from the Italian Embassy that you can adopt and return to Italy with the child? If not forget about adopting in Singapore. With some of these questions answered I can help as we have adopted in Singapore successfully.

The MCYS HSR is for people in Singapore adopting SC children. You'll need a HSR from SACAC or similar to adopt a child from outside Singapore into Singapore.
Now I'm called PNGMK
