Moving personal belongings from SG to Malaysia by rented MPV

Post by nobodybutme » Sun, 25 Dec 2011 10:09 am

Hi All,

I am SPR holding Malaysia driving license would like to rent a MPV (Toyota Wish or Mitsubishi Grandis) with the intention of shifting my personal belogings like TV, Clothes, Guitars, kitchen appliances and etc from Singapore to Malaysia.

My question :-

1. Is it legal to use rented car/MPV to shift my own belongings? Do I need a special license to do so?

Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

The driving part is not illegal, but .. Malaysia will give you a tough time, when you try to bring in Electical items :) And kitchen appliances .. even used ones. ..

Wouldn't it be better just to use those big box couriers like those found in Lucky Plaza? To avoid the questions from the immigration officers about the electrical stuff?
