Cycle Helmet for Western head

Post by nutnut » Fri, 16 Dec 2011 8:29 am

Hi All,

So, I bought a new bike and all the stuff I needed to go with it, I intend to use it for travelling around for meetings etc for my new role, but, there is one thing I am struggling with, a helmet.

So, the issue with the helmet is not the circumference around my bonce, but the straps under my chin, they don't go long enough. Does anyone know of a strap extender or a place that sells helmets with longer straps in Singapore? Unfortunately, the length of the strap is not usually designated on the size of the helmet, just the circumference.

Any help would be appreciated.

edit: Just for information, the size of helmet I have tried is large, I have not seen any XL in Singapore cycle shops, I have tried Treknology3, the cycle shop next to Porn's on East Coast Road and some shop in Simei as well as Carrefour.

This one is my favourite, think I'd be noticed at East Coast Park with this on?

Too conspicuous. How about using more indigenous materials?

How about this then?

Definitely keeps other cyclists away from you - far far away!

I had trouble finding quasimodo size here and ended up getting mine from the states.

Thinking out of the box, have you tried the Luge at sentosa? they must cater for the brainier types and sell helmets, or try some of the climbing outdoor shops.
