I am looking to have some furniture made for my helper's room. Specifically, I need an elevated bed with cabinets underneath. I also need some wall cabinets. I have looked at IKEA and not found anything quite right. Has anyone found a carpenter or contractor or furniture maker who could assist me with this project?

So you are trying to shove her in a broom closet that doesn't even have room for a full sized single bed and a wardrobe with drawers in the bottom of it? Trying to shove her into the bomb shelter? Does she even have a window?

Not a broom closet; bed will be full sized single; not a bomb shelter; has a window (and aircon). In short, all the things you are implying here just aren't so. I'm looking to make a nice room even nicer for my helper. If you want to discuss some people's terrible treatment of their domestic help, this is not the place to do it. I assure you that I am not one of those people. So, may I please ask that we stick to my question. If there is anyone around who can actually help me with my needs, please let me know.

Good for you. So many here have asked similar questions in the past and subsequently our trying to understand why they need to custom build a bed, etc. find it's because they are trying to put in a bed in the "maid's room" which is something concocted up by a real estate agent when it fact it's the bomb shelter or utility room off the kitchen and impossible to get a normal single bed into. I kid you not. Horror stories abound.

Good catch, after straining I have to dump the grinds in the trash and rinse the strainer out, that does take an extra 15-20 seconds. I guess I just...
