Selling UK stocks whilst living in Singapore

Has anyone any experience of selling UK shares whilst living out here ? The company registrars (Computershare) won't trade for me as I am a non UK resident so told me to go to another broker - something to do with money laundering. Anyone know how I achieve my aim.

How and when did you buy them?
What exchange are they on?
Where are you from?
Do you have the certificates?
