IT skills demand and job hunting in Singapore?

Hi all,

I'm just new here, and yes I have discovered the search function

I have a bit of a specific query, intending to relocate from Australia to Singapore as soon as possible, for 2-3 years.

I've been applying for probably 2 months or so for jobs in Singapore, mostly through the Singapore jobs websites such as Monster, JobsDB, etc. - but having a bit of mixed success. I mostly blame my terrible job I have currently in Australia, where my title and job roles are so misaligned that my mostly "Technical Architect" responsibilities go under the guise of "Systems Engineer" - thus also being rewarded as such.

The questions I have, are:
- Should I be applying for contract or permanent positions for this duration? Any issues with one approach over the other legally in Singapore?
- Any idea what the landscape is like in Singapore for jobs in the areas of Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, Technical Architect etc. currently?
- Are there any particular skillsets in high demand and I should be focusing on more in my CV?
- Any recommended approaches to job hunting or recruitment agencies that have helped others in this forum with similar situations?

Any help I would be very grateful for, of which I hope may serve to help others in a similar situation!

I am also planning to move to Singapore and i also work as network/Technical Architect. I agree that some of the jobs advertised as Techical Architect are not the right roles as they cover entirely different stream to which you might be...
