Aside from the large department stores, where is the best place to purchase inexpensive Christmas lights and decorations? I live in Bukit Panjang area

Super markets etc, Cold Storage and Carrefour have plenty. Not sure what you are after though?

Good chance GIANT in IMM would have them.

Was in Carrefour (Suntec) today, they have a good collection and quite reasonably priced too. There's also a Groupon deal for Christmas trees - got the email through today.

There are places at The Verge that has the kind that string together end to end, or they'll make them for you. Nice, but they do run out. 'No stock lah' by next week I bet.

Go to this building called The Verge near Sungei Rd. The top floor is where all the party shops are. They're probably full of xmas trees and decorations right now!

We just came back from IMM. This may be a bit late now but we picked up some cracking xmas tree lights from there for around $20. They have stalls just outside Giant selling decorations and lights for trees on discount.

Our tree now has to have a disclaimer regarding something about looking at it too long and sensitivity to flashing lights :P
