Press Once Can Already

Okay, can't post the link here, but the local birdcage liner has an article about someone who posted the above sticker on a pedestrian walker button. LTA (or anyone in authority) didn't see the humour in it and just re-iterated the phase that gave SG its moniker of "Singapore is a Fine City"

Humor was never one of their best suits. The rest of the Singaporean cybercommunity agrees.

A thousand internets to the prankster.

It's so funny on so many levels.

So will I get canned if I draw with my finger "QRM was here" in wet concrete found on the side of the road?

Yeap, especially considering you need a pretty big can to start with. Or a lot of small cans and a big meat grinder.

I don't get it.
In most of the "modern" countries in the world, there wouldn't even be a police report ! This is just humorous ephemeral stickers, in some countries it could even be considered as street-art!

Ahhh dear Singapore, your extreme liberal-conservatism will always surprise me.

part of the justification, from my volunteer group, was, that, the stickers covered the braille lettering in the traffic light, making them useless for blind or partially blind people - if you notice, the newer pedestrian crossings do have the direction also .. a sticker basically makes it useless ..

And with the implementation of the "Green Man" signalling, it makes sense ..

In fact, Singapore enforces the law called "Damaging Public property" and that has stopped a lot of people from vandalising stuff and calling it "art" or "FUN" or "just killing time .. " ;)

Now, go back to my country, even the bus stands are occasionally smashed up 'for fun' and often in the name of fun, a lot of public property does get damaged and all the culprit has to do is apologise and a probation / warning is issued , at the most ..
