Use the search function and the results will make you laugh...or cry, depending on your disposition.

In Singapore Personal Trainer and professional should not be used in the same sentence. Your opened ended question will likely do nothing much except cause every pseudo trainer reading to "recommend" themselves. They will, just about as fast, be deleted as they aren't really recommending but soliciting.

If they are any good, they don't need to prowl forums looking for unsuspecting victims to fleece. Hopefully, you catch my drift (you are liable to also be besieged by them PMing you if they somehow manage to gain enough posts to activate their PM function.

Good personal trainers

Post by aussiebabe » Wed, 09 Nov 2011 4:18 pm

Hi there,

I personally like Zhywee and Lisa from fitnessbootcamp.sg. I went for their training last week and I burn 1,000 calories in one hour :D
It takes place outdoors, at East Coast Park or Botanic Garden and I prefer that rather than in the gym.

I hope this helps! :)

^^^^

I'd be interested in the answer to that one as well.

It's more than doable though with just a little effort. Especially when you put it into perspective......

As it takes 7,700 calories to equal one Kilogram, then your butt busting outing there means you lost a grand total of 130 grams of something. In all probability, water loss.

But I admit, it sounds more impressive than saying you lost 130 grams of something.....

You probably don't need a personal trainer if your goal is to run a marathon. You need to start running short distances (whatever your condititioning level right not permits) then gradually increase those distances over time.

I'm sure a google search for "marathon training" will give you a good idea of how to stagger the increases in distance over time to make the best progress. A PT is unlikely to run with you all the way, and will only give you a "cookie cutter" approach to it anyway (unless you're looking for a specific type of trainer that will analyse your gait and running style to make recommendations, but it struck me from the tone of your post that this is more related to general improvement in fitness).

I totally agree with that it is rare to find trainers in sg who constantly upgrades.
my best friend is preparing for her wedding, trains with Keith at Aileron Wellness in sentosa. 1month and 6cm off her tummy. Apparently, he's very knowledgeable and certifies trainers in sg.

all the best with your marathons! :)
You just gotta start somewhere.

I have tried a marathon trainer from FitPro 365. Got myself a trainer named David Shum. Here's the website: http://fitpro365.com/fitpro15/index.php ... 1&Itemid=2

After trying complimentary marathon training package with him, I find David to be really experienced and knowledgeable. Certified, yes. Constantly upgrades, yes also.

His contacts are in the website.

He also trains clients for bi and triathlon.

Avoid Garry Carson from THE FITNESS CLINIC

Post by ExpatNYC » Fri, 20 Jan 2012 11:17 pm

GARRY CARSON - Very unprofessional person. I don't know if he is a certified trainer. He has a website called "the fitness clinic" and advertises for fitness at your doorstep. He does not show up for the sessions and is extremely unprofessional. Please don't hire him. He's terrible!
