Not necessary. When I was there, I'm not the only one who wore like that. Haha! Maybe u can just wear a casual dress? Good enough. (:

On the other hand, during my first meeting with scoot, they said that there will be layovers (thus, allowance will be given = definitely higher pay then tiger), and food will be provided during flights.

My friend who got in through the previous batch signed on the spot and so did some of the forumers here. I'm sure if it's bad, they wouldn't have signed on the spot?
I'm not saying its worst than Tiger...thats why i hope those who have flew previously w Tiger and Jetstar or hv friends flying w them to give some advise here.

What i know is Scoot is offering lower than Silkair (which only does turn-around flts). Silkair crew can earn as much like more than 3K and at least min is above 2.5K. And bear in mind, the qualification for both SCoot and Silkair is the same.

At the assessment centre we were briefed they only pay $7 per flying hour (which i feel is pretty low). Any idea how much Tiger and Jetstar is paying per hour?

During your first meeting with SCoot? MEaning u have met up w them before alr?

TheLastSummer wrote:I can't say that the pay is Attractive, as my current job pays higher. I took it up anyway as currently I'm still considerably young (I hope!), no committments, yet and this is a job not everyone can get in.

I want to try for it, for a year at least and see how far I can go and take it as this is what I currently want to do. Worse case scenario, after a year, I can always fall back to ground jobs (like now) and still earn the same as per before. It's only a year difference, so the pay factor shouldn't fluctuate so much.

I've been in sales before, I can always go back to doing that after this year. So, why not try something right now, since I have the chance? ;D

Good luck to all!

Haha sound so true! i think this is the most motivating factor....coz its not everyone can get in and theres somehow an "age limit". I mean...we cant possibly only wana try to be a cabin crew when we r like 40 n tied down with commitment...LOL.

Mid feb, scoot came to my school to recruit. During then, they told us the pay and privileges.

Based on what I read, I think jetstar and tiger's pay max would be 1.6-1.8k when the roster is good. With mainly turnover, means no allowance. Rmb tht even tho per hour flying for scoot is $7/hr, there will be allowance whn u have layovers.

For silkair, they have high service requirements. Since they're full-service carrier. On the other hand, scoot is more of casual. So workload is lesser. You can't really compare pay when it's two different types of carriers. Furthermore it's easily tough to get in silkair, hteres skin check like sq too.

Oh ya.. the 1.6k-1.8k max is take-home pay, with CPF deducted. On average they will take home between 1.3-1.6k.
