Re: After PR Approval Process
Hello,
For PR completion formalities, the letter says payment by NETS or Cash Card. I only have Visa/Mastercard credit and debit cards. Does anybody know if ICA accepts these, or cash?

Nope. Nets it is. Never seen them accept cash for quite sometimeSunrisesingapore wrote:Hello,

It is pretty unheard of, for a person living in Singapore not to have a NETS enabled ATM. Which ATM card do you use ? Or are you purely Credit and Debit card ?

Hmmm, I use HSBC and their cards don't have NETS - just credit and debit cards. I have a NETS Flashpay (use mainly for MRT) - would that work?

OK just done some research. Seems that one can buy a NETS Cash Card from 7 Eleven. I'll just do that and top up with the necessary cash.
(Only local banks and Standard Chartered issue NETS Bank Cards)

yep, buy a cash card. But after that, you can't use the cash card for many things

Re: After PR Approval Process
NETS seems to be very much a local thing. Most countries have or had them e.g. China and UnionPay, UK and Maestro/Solo, Japan and JCB, India and RuPay etc. Always difficult for foreign banks to break into local territory in that respect.

Actually, here: http://www.ica.gov.sg/page.aspx?pageid=139 it says you can pay for replacement IC card by NETS Flashpay.....I have one of those so going to try that.
I could simply call ICA, but it's difficult to get through.....

You can use your NETS Flashpay. No problem.

Hi i have applied PR on March2015 for 3Persons.i am indian.the status Still pending. now i am holding EP. Salary -4.3K/month
Normally ICA how long will take for processing?
I've got PM from abdulkadher so I'll just reply here for the benefit of the forum.Dear Sir,
i have applied PR for 3 persons on March 2015. Before i applied on 2013. but rejected. Please advise, normally ICA taking how long to process for Approval or rejection?
1. ICA can take as long as they want/need. The fastest we have seen is 2 months, the slowest we have seen is more than a year. Both approval and rejection.
2. You have been rejected before. Now you are applying again. Is there any improvement in your profile like salary, education, family structure between 2013 to 2015?
3. You are an Indian national. I'm sorry to say this but it seems like ICA is trying to cut down on the number of applicants from subcontinent India countries, unless you are a very special candidate. General election is coming and the local populace is very anti-foreigner at the moment. So it will get even harder.
This is just my opinion. I may or may not be right.

Re: After PR Approval Process
Your improvement is not much, perhaps the only good thing is that you have your son.
I'd still advise you to prepare yourself mentally to wait for one year. If you get results earlier, good.

Re: After PR Approval Process
But don't get stressed if ICA is silent for more than 6 months, up to a year in some cases.
