I maybe wrong, but .. maybe your english is putting off possible attention ?mitchel wrote:Hello, friends!
Please help me or advise in my problem: I look for a job in SG in biomedical field (research associate, medical technologist, chemist and so on), I send my CV for EVERY announcement, I monitor ALL webportals which publish advertisments about job in Singapore, I has polished and improved my CVs till the perfection, attached personified cover letters (not copy/paste, but with specified opening and company title). I have even domestic phone number in my CV.
But there is no response. I had only around several answers with best wishes in further attempts.
I have appropriate qualifications in my field (PhD in Biology, MSc in Chemistry) and professional experience (research and r&d, but not abroad, only within Russia).
For now I even would be agree to accept lower position with lower sallary just to gain my domestic experience and at least the language. But noone wish to invite me...
What is wrong in my methodology? What kinda activities should be added to the work of job seeking? Could it be effective to require the internship with prospective employment? Or it is wrong with my ethnicity?
I would be very much oblidged for the advices!
what do you mean: my english language skill is not sufficient or they prefer persons who can speak mandarin as well? it's no doubt - in the second case i will be passed over for any invitation, but hope springs eternal in the human breast...ecureilx wrote:

If you are looking for research, you should look at the Unis first, says my humble 2 cents ..
I think he means your English skill, which is the only thing I can think of also. Your written English is very good, but it is quite easy to tell it is not your first language. It's a shame though, because it's clear your English is much better than many local people.mitchel wrote:what do you mean: my english language skill is not sufficient or they prefer persons who can speak mandarin as well? it's no doubt - in the second case i will be passed over for any invitation, but hope springs eternal in the human breast...ecureilx wrote:

Yes, i work with unis, what about internship in companies? may they have any interest to appoint unknown fella from unknown state as a intern?
by the way - thanx for you attention to my wretched person
certainly it looks strange, because it's not native! obviously i do not feel fine nuances! probably after some years of handling it i shall excel, but now i express like i may. it's not machine translation, cuz the last one would present real thrash and asininity, i already triedbeppi wrote: But I must say your English looks rather strange, like a machine translation that has all the vocabulary but no feeling for the fine nuances of a language.
not pr and pep regretfully. i heard employer assists in visa obtaining. but only when they made the decision about the candidate. or some companies even don't consider foreigners?beppi wrote:You didn't mention which kind of visa you currently have, but if it's not PR or PEP, that might well be the reason for your rejections: Most employers shun the risk and hazzle of hiring somebody that doesn't yet have a pass allowing work and residence here.
This is Singapore, and only employers obtain work visa (work pass), unless you are here on PEP (google MOM+PEP)mitchel wrote: not pr and pep regretfully. i heard employer assists in visa obtaining. but only when they made the decision about the candidate. or some companies even don't consider foreigners?
