UK Kindle 3G in Singapore

Post by Neil_UK_77 » Tue, 18 Oct 2011 10:53 pm

Hi all,

I'm moving over to Singapore from London next month.

I'm wondering whether my Kindle will work via 3G there, or whether I should get a wireless version (I have one of the original models).

Anyone have any experience of this?

Cheers

How much is kindle in UK? I'm pretty confident you will not have a problem on the 3G, it's pretty standard and all UK appliances like mobile phones work unless they are locked!

Cool, thanks!

When I bought mine I think it was $150 but I got it shipped from the US when they were first released.

Now, the new one without the keyboard is £85.

I might just get one of those and give the old one to my dad before I go, and get him with the times :D

It's cool that you can register 2 Kindles to your account so he can access all the books I've bought from Amazon.

3G works, just don't move your amazon account over to Singapore! then you'll not be able to buy any books at all!

I have been using my 3G on my Kindle for a year now, no issue, it's a UK version too.

Please though, just to reitterate, don't change your account location to Singapore, it will screw you up! ;)
