Phishing scam

Post by ksl » Sat, 15 Oct 2011 4:43 am

An order came to my email account junk box which is obviously a phishing scam, I never clicked on anything, though it says i have purchased 2 items for $400 + from www.yesasia.com which I am not a member of.

If you receive anything like this, do not click on anything within the email, take note of the website address and open the browser to check it out. www.yesasia.com does exist.

So I sent the details of the order to the CEO and said, it would be in the hands of the police tomorrow, can they send me any details of credit card used last 4 numbers will do billing address and shipping address, I'm counting on that they have no such order. Only time will tell.

I'm pretty sure it is a scam, but we use our credit cards all the time in Singapore and it's quite easy to pick up email addresses if they have credit card details they can more or less guess email addresses.

I'm pretty sure there is a fup website linked into the email, that's why you shouldn't click on any links within the email. Be warned.

Would be interested to know if it's happening to anyone else!
