Bike Seat for big blokes

Post by richie303 » Wed, 12 Oct 2011 1:42 pm

I have newly started to enjoy cycling recreationally as my kids are now getting to the age where biking up and down the condo is not sufficient for them to have fun.

I have been hiring bikes at wherever I go, but wanted to invest in one for myself. I am not bothered about anything fancy, but there is one problem... I have a big ar$e and regular seats simply aren't too comfortable for me when traversing east coast park up and down for 2-3 hours.

I wondered if anyone had any tips for a good seat for a larger bum?

Thanks!

Here are some big ones http://www.realseat.com/my-seat.html

The only way to tell is trial and error, just because the seat is big gel filled etc it doesn't mean it will be comfi over long distances, the wide seats though comfi to sit on often end up chaffing other parts.

In the end the best compromise for me was a good pair of padded bike shorts, they come in Normal look if spandex is not your thing. Then gradually break your butt in.
