child minder / au pair

Post by bv01 » Tue, 11 Oct 2011 3:09 pm

hi

i was wondering I see the word Maid / domestic worker or helper alot but what about au pairs?

Something less cleaning but helping out with the routine of the house and children?

I am thinking of keeping busy while hubby works?

Any suggestions?

A nanny?

In Singapore, a maid is expected to be able to do anything short of the managerial, electronics, mechanical and tactical skills of Alfred "Batman's Butler" Pennyworth.

Just mention what specific skills you need.

You mean you would like to do the job? You are not going to get a permit for this.

no not a job - more like a helper

to fetch and take children to school and maybe help the expats children with homework.

its hardly anything more than a lift club.

is this classified as a job where you need a permit?

Yes it is. Even if you were not paid for this you would still need a permission from MOM.

If you are not from Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines or Sri Lanka, don't bother as they are the only ones who can do it here unless you are already a PR here or a citizen.
