Contact of some agents/agencies for renting/leasing a unit

Post by ab1sh3k » Mon, 10 Oct 2011 5:55 pm

Hi all,

I am looking out for some *trustworthy* agents/agencies contacts for finding a 2 bed room unit some where between Boonlay to Red hill. I have been in Singapore for 2 years. I have personally had bad experiences and I also did see some of my friends having bad experiences with agents here. It almost drives me to night mares to deal with these people.

The first incident is that - we(me and my friends) rented a house. We were only allowed to see the house when the owner was already staying there, so we did not get any chance to inspect the facilities(infrastructure). The house was good though. We took up the house. It was only after moving in, we realized everything in the house was very bad. The sofa was reckoned, bed bugs all around, the water in the taps were thin as a thread, the cup boards were to be handled like a baby otherwise they break down and so on. We tried getting back to the agent from our side - he picks up n cuts the calls or never picks up at all. The house owner side agent yells at us whenever we call. And, the owner was not at all reachable.

In an another incident with my friend - I don't know if its right or wrong, the house owner took a security deposit(one month rent) but later they were unable to move in. So he never returned the deposit. He made them go behind him like anything and finally denied to pay back even a penny. The agent(on both sides) did not even speak a word on this issue. I am not sure if its legal here, but morally sounded very bad to me.

I am not sure if any of you have faced these kind of things, but these made me lose faith in agents here.

Well for these reasons, I am looking for some reliable or trustworthy agents or agency contacts. Thanks.

Cheers,
Abi

You won't be getting recommendations for agents here as our site host is a real estate agency. If we see one, we--the moderators--will delete it.

That said, it will be unfortunately amusing to hear other people's stories about similar landlords and useless agents.

i feel sad for your experiences, but i still believe there are both good agents and bad agents, may be the former being the minority..

I am sorry Moderator, I did not know that this post is against the forum rules :( But frankly, I am really helpless and had no other go other than to ask it. I am sorry anyways, did not mean to violate the rules.

Don't feel too bad. It's just our hosts do not like Honda and Kia salesmen in their Merc & BMW showroom trying to sell their inferior goods.
