Swimsuit shopping for larger sizes

Post by Elayne » Fri, 07 Oct 2011 11:40 am

Hi, I'm new to the board and this is my first post. I have so many questions as I just moved here last week. I'm looking for a swimsuit to wear to the local pool to exercise. I'm looking for a one-piece since I will be lap swimming. Does anyone know where to find one? The problem I'm having is that most places sell small swimsuits. I am 5'9'' and, well, let's just say I'm not skinny yet which is part of why I want to get back into swimming. Most of the sizes I've seen offered at the very few places I've seen swimsuits stop a size or two below my size. Any recommendation on where to find a swimsuit with more sizing options? Thank you so much!

Elayne

Hi Elayne, have you try Arena? They have quite good design for one piece and it usually comes in different sizes (S - XL).

Glad to have you! I've been here about a year. Love it!

But when I went to America last month, I stocked up on clothes. I'm short...but fat. LOL. No clothes for me here.

Just wanted to say hi and good luck. Email me if you would like to talk or if you have more questions. Love to visit!

try ocean's paradise at paragon, they have a decent range of sizes.

i've seen speedo bathing suits that go up to 44" (their sizing is the measurement of your chest i think). so this translates to roughly US 14/16?

I have bought Western size bathing costumes from a place called Belicious in the east coast, (find them on FB)
33 Greenfield Drive, Singapore, 457939.

Definitely give this brand a try.

Sometimes you might get lucky and find a sale in Tanglin but the prices at the swim shop there on b1 are ridiculous, in the 200's for a swimming costume!

Kate Moss would be lucky to fit into an "XL" here.
Check out the English brand, Marks and Spencers. Quite a few branches here in Singapore. "New look" also popping up everywhere.
Good luck!
