I assume hard to say as it's a case by case basis but does somebody actually look at the visa application and asses the case or is it passed through a computer to your knowledge?

Reviewed by an individual case officer. Be honest and upfront. The MOM usually exercise common sense in these situations from the findings on here......

All applications goes thru vetting agency be it here or overseas.

Previously, I mean say 10 years ago, such vetting was not normal .. in the past few years, a lot of 'enterprising' people have landed here and proven that vetting agencies are a necessary evil ..
