A November weekend would work for me... Sat preferred, Fri... after I get in from the airport.

I just noticed, I see 'Member' next to my nick/handle now instead of 'Newbie' but I have a newbie question.

Is this an exclusive gathering? Is this where you listen to 'Hotel California' (by the Eagles, of course:))on excellent component audio hooked up to Bose or JBL speakers? (Oh God, I can almost hear you guys cracking up!:))

P.S.: I did a search and it didn't turn up anything that would explain what this gathering is.

Basically, yes. It's a collection of long time regulars (misfits?) who are and have been very active & proactive in their contributions to this board since they've been here. Race, Gender, Religion, Nationality or political bents are immaterial. In fact, our whole grouping is a mini-UN of sorts.

I've had to change the name as when we first started it was just a collection of Crusty Old Coots, Codgers & Curmudgeons, but we've diversified in the past year with the addition of several not so old or crusty members of the fairer gender who've been able to put up with our BS over the years.

Hopefully, some of our newbies will stick around to help dispense their gained knowledge as they settle into the Singapore Experience and do as we do in helping to pay it forward, as the saying goes. They will earn their place here as well we hope. Status Symbol? Nah, more like 20 lashes with a wet prayer shawl.

I don't know about that SMS I'm sure has the Eagles music on tape I should think, tapes are those machines with two spools, a little antique gadget you know

Just like an old Mercedes is still a Mercedes, Eagles on tape is still the Eagles.

Nothing like the live recording of the concert where they start off with what seems like some random instrumentals and blend in the beginning of 'Hotel California'.... that part, I love!

Damn you caught me out, I gave the Betamax away when i came here, though I brought my old Akai Video and tapes and really haven't had my money's worth out of it due to the high humidity

How can I solve the problem? Lots of boxing films I'd like to keep and the classics.
