PR Approved After Appeal

Post by ValeR46 » Thu, 29 Sep 2011 5:43 pm

Hi Everyone,

We just got approval for my wife's PR today after an appeal. We are Indonesian Chinese.

We applied my wife's PR initially at 26 Nov 2009. It's one day after our ROM 25 Nov 2009 (big mistake).
We didn't know that Marriage of Convenience can become a possible consideration in PR application.
During our renewal for my wife's social visit pass at around mid Sept 2010, the ICA officer recommend us to apply LTSVP and we did that (another mistake).
The LTSVP was approved within 3 days of application. But the PR was rejected few months after we got the LTSVP.
The rejection letter came at around mid nov 2010 and there was no specific time frame to re-apply in the rejection letter.
However, we were lucky enough that my wife has just finished her Bachelor Degree around Oct 2010.
So we immediately appeal the PR based on the fact that my wife has an improvement in her education background.

My wife got pregnant at mid March 2011. I decided to sent email to ICA at early May 2011 stating that my wife is pregnant and requested them to kindly consider our application.
They reply my email with short note that they acknowledge the content of my email. However, there's still no news about the application.

Our last resort was to ask help from MP. ICA reply our appeal through MP within 2 weeks after we went to see the MP. It's around mid June 2011.
They requested us to submit some documents stating about current my salary, tax and cpf contributions. We submitted the documents immediately.

We went to MP for the second time at July 2011 since there's no news from ICA about our application. ICA sent us letter stating that they will inform us about the outcome once it's finalized.
Finally after 3 months since the submission of the documents, my wife's PR is approved.

Hope our experience might help those who have similar situation with us.

Hi All,

My application also rejected after 7 months. I would like to appeal again but not sure which email should I sent. I heard that apply PR or appeal PR via some agency is better than apply/appeal ourselves. May I know what is the "MP" here? Is it agency name?

Thanks & Regards,
YinYin

So your application is under the new e-PR system?

MP = Member of Parliament
I know only Singaporean can meet them/ask for some help during the Meet-the-People Sessions.

Unless you have significant changes in your status, work, education, etc - appeals are not of much help. Very rarely we see appeals being approved.

You are trying to bring up a thread that is more than 7 years old. What was valid then may not be valid now.
